Safety Training

From a mandatory safety orientation at hire to weekly toolbox meetings, Southern Wall Systems employees are kept fully current on safety requirements, OSHA regulations, and individual job requirements. Whether it’s an OSHA 30 Hour Training or a monthly foreman’s meeting, SWS is serious about safety and has received safety awards from the Associated Builders and Contractors for six years running.

When hired, all SWS employees are required to attend a comprehensive safety orientation. During this time, Southern Wall’s safety policies are covered in great detail. If the employee will be driving a company vehicle, DMV records are reviewed periodically to ensure road safety.

Drug Free Workplace
SWS is a certified drug free workplace and drug tests all employees when hired. In addition, supervisors receive annual training on how to spot drug and alcohol abuse and handle these sensitive situations.

Weekly Toolbox Meeting
Project Managers and/or Superintendents are required to conduct weekly toolbox meetings with employees about their job duties. New topics are presented weekly and cover various safety concerns including ladder safety, scaffolding and heat stress, just to name a few.
